How it works
A clear path from choosing flooring to planning installation.
Compare the materials
Bring room photos, approximate measurements, and your ideas to the showroom. We will help you compare flooring styles, product specifications, pricing, and available quantities.
Talk with an independent installer
Tell us you need help finding a flooring installer. Confirm your location, flooring type, measurement arrangements, and project scope directly with the installer.
Review your installation quote
Agree on the work, price, preparation, and schedule with the installer. Confirm final material quantities and availability before placing your flooring order.
Choose with the whole project in mind
Planning for LVP, laminate, or carpet?
The floor you choose shapes the questions to ask before installation. Explore the materials below, then confirm that the independent installer can handle your specific product and project.
Luxury vinyl plank
Planning an LVP installation? Discuss the exact product’s installation method, existing floor, subfloor condition, and transitions. Click-lock and bonded products can require different preparation.
Compare luxury vinyl plank →Laminate flooring
For laminate installation, ask about the manufacturer’s requirements for moisture conditions, underlayment, expansion space, and transitions between rooms.
Explore laminate flooring →Carpet
For carpet replacement, discuss room dimensions, roll width, seam placement, padding, stairs, and removal of the old floor. Have the installer confirm the cut plan before ordering.
Browse carpet options →Considering another flooring type? Ask us about your project. Installation capabilities, service area, and scheduling must be confirmed with the independent installer.
Understand your estimate
Compare more than the price per square foot.
Flooring installation costs depend on the material, room layout, existing floor, preparation, and finishing details. A simple room refresh and a project with stairs or substantial floor preparation may involve very different work.
Your material quote from our showroom and your installation quote from the installer are separate. Compare both when planning your overall budget.
Ask what the installation quote includes
- Measurements, labor, and the rooms or areas covered.
- Existing flooring removal, disposal, and furniture moving.
- Subfloor preparation and any work identified after removal.
- Underlayment, adhesive, transitions, stairs, and baseboards.
- Scheduling, payment terms, cleanup, and workmanship coverage.
Have the installer explain exclusions and how any additional work will be approved before it begins.
Before your measurement
A little preparation makes the conversation easier.
You do not need every answer to get started. A few details can help the showroom and installer understand what you want to accomplish.
Read our flooring measurement guide →- Photos of the rooms, current flooring, and adjoining spaces.
- Your project address and approximate room dimensions.
- Flooring products or colors you are considering.
- Stairs, doorways, furniture, and any access restrictions.
- Your preferred timing and questions about preparation.
Approximate measurements help with shopping. Ask your installer to verify the quantity, layout allowance, and product requirements before purchasing.
Good questions to ask
Flooring installation and referral questions
Does Pay It Forward Flooring install the flooring?
We sell flooring materials and can connect you with an independent installer. The installer provides the installation quote and agreement, and you pay the installer separately for the installation work.
How do I request a flooring installation estimate?
Contact our showroom and mention that you would like an installer referral. Share your flooring type, project location, and approximate size. Confirm measurement availability, any visit fee, and the installation estimate directly with the installer.
Is installation included in the flooring price?
No. Flooring material pricing and installation charges are separate. Ask the installer for a written scope and quote, and ask our team to confirm the material quantities and pricing for the products you select.
Can you help if I have not chosen my flooring yet?
Yes. Visit the showroom to compare luxury vinyl plank, laminate, carpet, and other flooring options. Bring photos and approximate measurements so we can help you narrow the selection before you finalize installation arrangements.
Should I buy the flooring before arranging installation?
Check product availability with us and confirm the final quantity and suitability with your installer before purchasing. This is particularly important for clearance lots, carpet remnants, and products that may be difficult to match later.
Who handles installation scheduling and workmanship questions?
Your independent installer confirms the installation schedule, work agreement, and any workmanship coverage. Our showroom team remains your contact for the flooring materials you purchase from Pay It Forward Flooring.
